Frequently asked questions

  • I currently serve clients in California and Missouri.

  • During an intro call, you can briefly share why you are seeking therapy, along with any other general information that you would like me to know. I will briefly share a little bit about myself so that we can make sure that we are a good fit. Together, we can make a plan on how to address whatever you are facing. If you’d like to book an intro call, you can book here.

  • During therapy, you can expect to be validated, empowered, and challenged, with care. You can expect an empathetic response from me in regards to whatever you are facing. Our first session will consist of us getting to know each other. I will ask questions about you, and you’re welcome to ask any questions you have about me too! We will make a plan together on how to address your symptoms.

  • No. I work with clients of all different backgrounds and faiths. Since I am a Christian and have additional biblical training, I offer Christian counseling to those who request that. This will not be done without your consent and your desires will be respected.

  • Yes you can!

I am happy to submit claims on your behalf via Thrizer, or I can provide a superbill, so you can coordinate with your insurance company directly if you prefer..

  • If you have out-of-network benefits, your insurance company will typically reimburse you for 60-80% of the cost of each session after you’ve met your deductible.

I’d be happy to check your benefits for you! Just make sure to have your insurance card handy, with your Member ID, during our free intro call.

Or if you prefer, you can confirm the benefits of your health insurance plan, with your insurance provider directly. Just call the number on the back of your health insurance card listed under Member Services.

You can ask them the following questions:

    • Do I have out-of-network outpatient mental health coverage? Am I able to use these benefits for telehealth?

    • What is my out-of-network deductible?

    • How much of my deductible has been met this year?

    • Do I need a referral from an in-network provider to see someone out-of-network?

    • What percentage of outpatient psychotherapy sessions are covered per session?

    • How much will I be reimbursed for a 50 minute psychotherapy session (CPT code: 90834)?

    • How do I submit claim forms for reimbursement?

    • How long does it take for me to receive reimbursement?

  • There are two options:

    1) We can use a company that I partner with, called Thrizer, that submits insurance claims on your behalf for a small fee. After you’ve met your deductible, you can decide whether or not you want to pay for the session in full, and receive reimbursement from your insurance company via direct deposit. Or you can simply pay your co-insurance and Thrizer can cover the rest of the cost for you, while they wait for reimbursement from your insurance company.

    2) If you prefer to submit claims yourself, I can provide you with a monthly superbill. You will be responsible for paying for the full session fee at the time of your appointment.

  • Yes, I reserve a limited number of sliding scale spots in my schedule. If you do not think you can afford my full fee, please don’t hesitate to contact me.

If I’m unable to offer you a sliding scale spot, I’d be happy to offer referrals to trusted clinicians in the area.
